At MyoLingo Speech Therapy, we take a whole-person approach to communication and oral function. We specialize in identifying and treating the root causes of speech, feeding, and breathing challenges—particularly orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs). We provide orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) to both children and adults, while our speech and language therapy services are provided specifically to children. The speech therapists at MyoLingo create personalized, evidence-based therapy plans that support meaningful, long-term success. Whether we're helping a child find their voice or supporting an adult with OMD, our goal is to encourage and empower every client to communicate and function with confidence and ease.

As a firm proponent of parental involvement when it comes to maximizing a child’s communication success, we provide parent coaching in tandem with therapy sessions to encourage parents to take an active role in promoting carryover of communication skills. For individuals receiving OMT, we work closely with each client and/or family to ensure the completion of daily 'homework' to maximize orofacial myofunctional benefit, carryover of learned skills, and creation of healthy oral habits.

Rosie Stanley M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist and Owner

Hello! My name is Rosie but most folks simply call me "Rose". I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of experience providing therapy in the school, clinic, and skilled nursing settings. I founded MyoLingo Speech Therapy to meet a need within the local community and surrounding areas for Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) provided specifically by a licensed speech-language pathologist. With my background in communication and oral-motor development, I’m uniquely positioned to address the functional aspects of OMDs through a speech-focused lens, ensuring that therapy supports oral function, correct swallowing, and speech production skills. I am dedicated to helping individuals of all ages reach their communication and myofunctional potential. As a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Virginia, I hold a license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). In addition, I am Level 1 PROMPT trained and have obtained additional training and certification in the provision of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) through the Simon Says OMT program. I look forward to obtaining additional training in OMT in the coming months and am working toward additional certifications in feeding therapy as well.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new places, and creating watercolor art. I can also be found hanging out with our family’s two rabbits (Chewy and Waffles) and our flock of fluffy hens.

Orofacial Myofunctional Evaluations and Treatment

We offer comprehensive orofacial myofunctional evaluations to assess  the muscles and functions of the face, mouth, and related structures. This assessment evaluates how these structures work together during breathing, eating, drinking, and swallowing.

We provide 8-12 therapy sessions (on average) to target the remediation of Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD). These sessions include 1:1 therapy with a licensed SLP, individual coaching, and a daily homework program to promote the creation and maintenance of healthy habits.
